October 31, 2012: Warehouse Hallowe'en Party

Welcome to Leena's Bed and Breakfast. It's a homey-looking place with a well-loved lived-in feel. Once you come in the front door, you're faced with a hallway. To the left is a large living room, with a sunroom off of the side, and a dining room off of the back. Straight ahead is a kitchen, with a private wing behind it and a bathroom. To the right is a stairway upstairs with a ribbon tied across the banister. Go under the ribbon to your own peril.

Joshua, Helena, and Claudia are milling around.

David wasn't convinced this would work, all things considered, but... well, it was worth a shot, he thought. And here he is (sans costume, as the Bar didn't put him in one).
Well then.

"Wooley!" Helena fairly runs across the living room and hugs him. "How? You... you can be here?"

If there is a faint tingle of lightning in the air, no one notices it.

David notices that faint tingle, and smiles as he hugs Helena. "For this, at least, it seems I can. I rather doubt it's a permanent arrangement, though. And weren't you saying the other day that you didn't have to wear that getup for a party anymore?"

"Well, it is Hallowe'en. And Joshua does so like it when I dress up." That's a huge smirk. "Welcome to the modern world, Wooley, do ask any questions you might have."

"How on earth did they get the... I'm assuming that's supposed to be music so bloody loud?"
(It's actually not too bad, by 2012 standards, volume-wise. And the music itself isn't death metal or anything. It's just that David's missed rather a lot.)

"Oh, Wooley." Helena rolls her eyes. "Yes, darling. It is music, and it is called amplification of sound. This is actually not really that loud. If you wish you know the science behind it, I could go find Joshua."

David sighs. "I am well aware of the amplification of sound, Helena. I was simply wondering how they got it so loud, given that gramophones rather have their limits."

[timelessinventor]

"Ah, but there have been advances since gramophones." She drags him over to the laptop and points at the speakers. "These speakers are exponentially louder than a gramophone."

"I rather suspected there would... be..."

He's just... going to eye this contraption for a moment.

"This is certainly a surprise." He walks over, smirking ever-so-slightly. "It is quite good to see you again, Agent Wolcott. I did not think I would."

"You as well, Mr. Kosan. I believe this is... some manner of special circumstances."
He's certainly not expecting to stick around, but for now, it is good to be back.

"Milliways is an odd place, I will certainly grant you that. As you are here, I believe She will make certain you are alright. I do not think She would want to see you harmed again."

"I should think not. That was a bit of a faff." To say the least.
David smiles a bit. "I am quite relieved to see Helena out and about again, though."

[firstprotector]

"I believe we are all quite relieved to have her back with us." He actually smiles. "I was never able to thank you for giving everything for Her. So thank you."

[this_isaturn]

"Of course. It was part of the job. And, well." David lowers his voice, the better to keep a certain author from overhearing. "It was bad enough Helena was making that journey as a statue. I didn't want to know what would happen if she didn't make it here at all."
There are some things she doesn't need to know just yet. Or perhaps ever.

"She still appreciates it."

He pauses, nodding. "I do not wish to know that either. It was bad enough that she was a statue for that move."

"I told Helena that much. I thought... if she didn't already know, she should."
From her reaction to the news, David's guessing the Caretaker bit hadn't come up.

Charles recognizes David from Helena's mind and walks over, "Good evening. I don't think we've met."

"Good evening," David replies in kind, without really thinking about it; some manners are reflexive.
"I believe not, no, but I've only just arrived to Milliways. David Wolcott."
He offers a handshake.

"Charles Xavier, its good to meet you. How are you finding Milliways?"

He returns the handshake with a smile and a small bow. His outfit seems to call for it.

"Pleased to meet you. It's... interesting, so far." He's seen stranger things, though. Warehouse work tends to do that.
"But it is quite good to be able to talk to Helena again."

"I hope its being the good sort so far. She's a wonderful woman."

"So far, yes. I've missed her."
Talking to a statue just wasn't the same.

"How long have you known her? If you don't mind my asking."

[this_isaturn]

"We were partners for close to a decade."
He's honestly not sure how to quantify the time after that. Her chronology? His? Don't count it at all because all their conversations were one-sided (though it turns out she heard them after all)?
