October 31, 2012: Warehouse Hallowe'en Party

Welcome to Leena's Bed and Breakfast. It's a homey-looking place with a well-loved lived-in feel. Once you come in the front door, you're faced with a hallway. To the left is a large living room, with a sunroom off of the side, and a dining room off of the back. Straight ahead is a kitchen, with a private wing behind it and a bathroom. To the right is a stairway upstairs with a ribbon tied across the banister. Go under the ribbon to your own peril.

Joshua, Helena, and Claudia are milling around.

David sighs. "I am well aware of the amplification of sound, Helena. I was simply wondering how they got it so loud, given that gramophones rather have their limits."

"Ah, but there have been advances since gramophones." She drags him over to the laptop and points at the speakers. "These speakers are exponentially louder than a gramophone."

"I rather suspected there would... be..."

He's just... going to eye this contraption for a moment.

Helena laughs, a rather loud, bright, laugh. "Oh, Wooley, I have missed those wonderful expressions of yours. That is a computer. Claudia could tell you much more about it than I."

"Oh, do leave off."
David turns away from the computer. "I see they've come down quite a bit in size since Ada Lovelace's contribution."

[timelessinventor]

"And why should I?" Helena beams at him, squeezing his hand.

"Oh, quite so. I simply wish that Ms. Lovelace was given the proper respect for her work. It seems things such as that are quite typical in this era."

David smiles. "I dare say the important people know her name."
And he wouldn't be at all surprised if the Warehouse is still using her device to pull in information.
