Things are actually wonderfully, completely settling out. Thank everything.

Steve's settling in quite well, if a bit over-questioning of Artie sometimes, Myka's back, much to everyone's relief, Helena is much more relaxed, and Joshua is taking a couple days to just freaking do nothing.

Thus, he has installed himself on a couch in the living room, much to Leena's chagrin with his 3Ds, a 2-litre of pop and a bag of potato chips. Watch out, Joshua, you're going to turn into Pete before long.

He smiles back, doofily, uncertainly. This is so different than Helena. Helena was comfortable, there was a confidence in his love for her.

With Myka, there was a silly puppy-love aspect to it.

Joshua just keeps silent, wandering through town holding her hand. He's not even certain what to say at this point.

Somehow, it feels like they're saying everything by just holding hands. She can feel his warmth and feel his heartbeat, and that's more than enough for her. Her skin is tingly and her stomach feels gooey and other than Helena, she hasn't felt this way in years. It's strange, but... better than she might have anticipated.

"Are you hungry?" she finally volunteers, because one of them probably needs to suggest something.

"Oh, yeah. Dinner." Joshua is pulled back to reality by her voice. "Yeah, we've probably missed Leena's dinner at this point. Is there anywhere in particular that you'd like to go?"

"Hmm," Myka thinks. "I feel like an american classic. Hamburgers?"

"Sounds good to me. I think Leena has me on a diet, because I swear, all I get anymore is salads." He makes a face. "I do actually like meat."

"Sheesh, we're going to have to get some protein in you. I thought you've looked a little pale." She sticks her tongue out at him to show she's teasing.

He rolls his eyes. "Oh, hush. I'm not that bad. One of the other Regents keeps saying that I need to eat more salads. She probably got to Leena."

"A salad every once in awhile is good, but wanting to broaden tastes past that is understandable." Myka makes a face. "As long as it's not into an overload of desserts."

"Hey, I'm not the one with the cookie problem here." He smirks. "I'm not that bad with a balanced food. Well, other than eating way too many carbs."

Myka laughs and pats his stomach. "Not too many."

"Heeeey." He wrinkles his nose, making a face. "Yeah, I know I'm getting a bit round." He takes her hand again, and leads her to the diner. "This work for you?"

"I don't think you're round, I was just playing." Myka has an apologetic tone, and squeezes his hand. "Perfect choice."

Joshua rolls his eyes. "Oh, I know I'm getting round. Don't worry about it." He's grinning, and holds the door for her as they go in.

He grabs a booth, and plunks down, grabbing a menu and burying his nose in it. Mmm. Food that he would probably get in trouble from Jane and Dr. Vanessa for eating, but who cares.

"What a gentleman," she says as she goes through the door, sitting across from him in the booth. It only takes a quick examination of the menu to decide what she wants.

Joshua shrugs. "Hey. I try to be polite. Least I can do." He grins at her, and closes the menu, just as the waitress comes over. He orders a chili with extra onions and a coke.
