That is an excellent question, actually, especially considering it takes a lot more effort to debronze someone who isn't already in there. As for why you're not keyed to it, that's likely because Artie asked for the lock in the first place not long after the MacPherson incident cleared up. No point in not having you on it now, though.
I tink a lock on both functions is a good idea. The bronzer can run all the self-cleaning diagnostics it wants, but the actual functions it's there to serve probably ought to be better secured.
